Entertainment Weekly has a very spoilery interview with Alex O'Laughlin Better known to us Moonlight fans as our marvelous Mick. Without getting into any real spoilers, lets just say that from what he says, these next four episodes are definitely ones to watch - if not to help ensure good enough ratings to get the show renewed for next year, but also because they sound spectacular!
Alex O'Laughlin at ComicCon (saying "hi" to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Slezak)
Alex and Jason Dohring (Josef) discussed one scene in particular featuring their characters. I'm trying to edit this carefully so as not to give away anything too much about the content of the scene, but to help avoid "slipups" I'm putting it in a table with a black background, so the text won't show up unless you use your mouse to highlight it, like you do for text you want to copy. Anything in brackets is to indicate where I've edited something. The interview was done at a recent ComicCon, where a clip from the scene being discussed was shown.
| [O'Laughlin says] "What my intention is as an actor — as is Jason's, it's safe to say — is to make the scene true. [...] You've just got to go for the truth of the scene. And we did, and I think it kinda worked." According to Dohring, it hellaworked. "Dude, when you see the scene, I swear to god, I was emotional for an hour or two afterward. I'm not f---in' jokin'," he told me. "Usually, it doesn't hit me like that, or it's five or ten minutes. It's very f---in' moving, because we got a 30-piece orchestra for that scene and our director, David Barrett, kept telling these guys, 'Play like you're never gonna play again,' and these guys were, like, going crazy. That clip didn't do it justice. You'll see some f---in' amazing stuff." |
